It seems that the NEWS file for 4.4.6 (available at ​http://chicken.wiki.br/dev-snapshots/) has not been updated. It seems to be the same as for 4.4.5.

Yes, that's correct - the change was not a user-visible one. I added an entry for 4.4.6 anyway (master). Thanks for reporting this.
