http://chicken.wiki.br/chicken-hackers-guide contains outdated information about Chicken, specially the "Release" section (still considers Chicken versions are managed by SVN).

I updated some parts of it sometime ago, but those were parts which were obviously wrong, considering the current chicken context.
It looks ok now, indeed.
